Facebook To Acquire Customer Service Start-Up, Kustomer for $1B

Tech giant Facebook has confirmed it will acquire customer service start-up Kustomer, valuing the company at roughly $1 billion according to The Wall Street Journal.

Kustomer allows businesses to aggregate customer conversations from various channels into a single-screen, and also to automate some of the responses to buyers. While Facebook has shown a willingness to venture into new spaces with acquisitions, this is the first customer service company it has acquired which it may choose to integrate into its various platforms.

Even while antitrust pressure has been mounting, Facebook has continued to make acquisitions. As recently as May, Facebook purchased Giphy, and in December of last year, it bought Spanish video gaming company PlayGiga.
